The Sino-Russian co-produced film *Red Silk* will be released in Chinese theaters on September 6.The film's premiere in China was held at the China Film International Cinema in Beijing on September 4. Led by filmmakers from both countries, the event kicked off the film's release journey in China. *Red Silk* is a specific project under the 2024-2025 "China-Russia Cultural Year" initiative, aiming to implement the cultural exchange proposals of the two heads of state.Directed by Andrey Volgin, the film is based on real historical events. It tells the story of a Chinese Communist Party courier who, with the protection of Soviet intelligence agents in 1927, overcame hostile forces to deliver secret documents to Moscow via the Trans-Siberian Railway. The film was shot on location in many places in both countries, presenting the process of tempering blood and faith in the severe cold.Since its release in Russia on February 20, *Red Silk* has been highly praised. In just the first three weeks, it attracted over 1 million viewers and earned more than 688 million rubles at the box office. Industry insiders believe that the film's release in China will enable more Chinese audiences to appreciate the charm of Russian culture and feel the enduring friendship between the two countries.
